The Dangers of Obesity
By: Sezer BWith technology developing so rapidly, man kind is getting lazier and lazier. People remain inactive and some get no exercise what so ever. Obesity is becoming an epidemic in developed countries. Many people are obese but do not eve realize it, or do not want to realize it. With obesity comes a whole slew of illnesses that could otherwise have been avoided. Obesity is costing the U.S. health system millions upon millions of dollars every single year. This money is used to looked after patients with obesity related illnesses.
What can be done about the obesity epidemic? There are many things that can be implemented but it has to start with the individual in their own home. Lifestyle change is the most important change a person can make to effect weight loss. They need to change their daily habits to include exercise and less time sitting in front of the television. They need to be as fit and healthy as they possibly can so as to set a good example for their children. Many children of obese parents are more often than not over weight too.
Cardiovascular exercise is the best form of exercise when starting out. This does not mean you have to jog 10 kilometers every day from the start. Take it easy and at your own pace. It doesn't matter how slow you go as long as you are making progress. Go for a light 30 minute walk in the mornings. If you are not a morning person go for your walk in the evening. Plan family outings that include some kind of physical activity such as playing paint ball.
Once you decide you want to lead a more healthy lifestyle, there are many ways you can change your life for the better.
